Kontras Quartet AMP program announced for 2025

The Kontras Quartet will perform its annual Chicago concert for the American Music Project on Friday May 23, 2025 at Ganz Hall

The program will mark a pair of composer birthday anniversaries: Charles Ives’ 150th (born October 20, 1874) with the String Quartet No. 1 and Terry Riley’s 80th (June 24, 1935) with his G Song.

The program will also include Aaron Copland’s Two Pieces for String Quartet, Julia Wolfe’s Four Marys and Andrew Imbrie’s String Quartet No. 1.
