The American Music Project is a nonprofit tax-exempt 501(c)(3) foundation founded by Lawrence A. Johnson in August of 2014 to facilitate performances of existing American classical works and selectively commission new music from American composers. The American Music Project will award grants for performances beginning with the 2015-16 fall season.
